Morris Charity Initiative (MCI)

A plethora of charities for a wide range of causes has been established in China, Asia and the world. Each of these charities have their own goals, setup, funding structure, project selection and spending patterns. For the donor, it is getting increasingly difficult to select the charity to donate to.

A donor is primarily interested in supporting a cause dear to him/her and to achieve maximum impact with the funds donated. To assess this impact and to thus know whether the money was well donated, however, is not straightforward. How does one compare the impact of two charities active in a certain area? How much of the funds does a charity actually invest in projects and how much is needed for internal administration and marketing? How does one hold a charity to account if funds were misspent or not spent at all? How does one learn about new exciting charities? And also: Will my single donation make a difference to the charity I donate to?

This is where MCI comes in. At MCI, we carefully vet charities with regard to their impact, credibility, accountability, and transparency. We do this based on our longstanding relations and personal involvement with a wide range of charities and our network of people active around charitable causes. We constantly monitor the development of the charities we support and we learn about new charities. Once we decide to support a charity, we independently monitor the progress of supported projects and align with the charities in case of deviations to the targeted impact. By bundling donations, we increase the impact we have towards the cause and the charity.

MCI thus provides a bridge between donors and charitable causes, helps to allocate donations according to impact and increases the impact by bundling donations.

A donation to MCI thus is ensured to achieve impact in education, animal welfare and environment. Additionally, we cover all internal expenses of MCI by own, private means and as such guarantee that 100% of your donation ends up with the causes dear to you. We provide full transparency of the projects and charities supported and the impact achieved.

Whilst we generally prefer general donations to MCI, we are open to receiving funds dedicated to one of our three topics. In addition to receiving funds, we are also open to receiving tips about projects and charities with significant impact for potential qualification for support by MCI.
