The Morris Charity Initiative (MCI), a registered charity in Hong Kong*, was founded in 2016 by the Morris family: Karen (莫文蔚), Trevor (莫理斯), and their mother Eleanor (莫何敏儀). In order to better continue their long-standing family tradition of philanthropy, the Morrises have set up MCI to give back more to society, and all of them have pledged to serve for free.
A staunch supporter of, and ambassador for, many charities over the years, including the SPCA, WWF, UNICEF, Care For Children, Enlighten, Habitat For Humanity, Nature Conservancy, and Animals Asia (to name but a few), Karen has been at the forefront of a vast variety of charitable causes in China and around the world.
A graduate of Cambridge (MA, LLM, PhD) and an Adjunct Associate Professor in Law at HKU, Trevor is (among other things) a film producer, author, translator, and designer, who lends his varied expertise to numerous charities with which his family is associated with.
A prominent figure in philanthropy for over 30 years, Eleanor is a founding member of the Children’s Cancer Foundation, as well as Honorary Adviser of the Intellectually Disabled Education and Advocacy League, and Honorary Director of the Animals Asia Foundation. Actively involved in fundraising for various worthy causes, her publications include phonics for children and etiquette for young people, with proceeds from sales going to charity.
