The Morris Charity Initiative (MCI) is a registered charity in Hong Kong*. We, the members of the Morris family, siblings Karen (莫文蔚) and Trevor (莫理斯), and mother Eleanor (莫何敏儀) set up MCI in 2016 in honour of Alfred Morris (1875 – 1945), founder of St. Johns ambulance services and founding headmaster of King’s College, Hong Kong. Alfred Morris has been an example for us and we want to continue his life of giving, of giving back to society.
MCI focusses on charitable work around the three themes education, environment, and animal welfare. Education is central to being able to contribute to society, it is our environment that we need to protect in order to be able to live and it is the caring for other species as well as our own species that makes us humane.
MCI primarily operates as an umbrella charity and supports charities and projects it has carefully vetted with regard to impact, credibility, accountability and transparency. We provide utmost care that any donation to MCI will achieve meaningful impact along the three themes that are dear to us.
